I love business. I’m not sure what it is. I think it’s the gradeur of it all. I think it’s just knowing that millions and millions of shares.. probably hundreds of billions, of shares being traded on a daily basis, has a much bigger effect on our daily lives than most people know about.
I, myself, am fairly new to investing, and I currently have my eggs in one basket. To be honest it has not been the greatest experience for me profit-wise, but a learning experience it has been.
When i first got into investing I heard a common saying that new investors must pay tuition. meaning, a first time investor almost never makes money, in fact they usually lose their entire investment, which is their “tuition”. I have also heard it said many times that you “only lose your money if you sell at a loss.” Meaning, as long as you still have your shares, it doesn’t matter how low the share price has gone, you haven’t sold them for that price yet so you haven’t lost any money.
Well, whatever the case may be I am still down signifiantly on my initial investment. But there is a ray of sunshine that i’m hoping breaks this baby out from under the clouds. A potential buyout is looming and if if goes through then i stand to make about $1000 on my investment! So I hope, that everything works out!
